Term 2 begins!
What a great first day back at school for Room 2! It was lovely to see their faces back in class, and it sounds like most children had a wonderful break.
Today we started our new topic which is "minibeasts!" I asked the children "what do you already know about minibeasts?" Here are some of their replies:
"Spiders eat flies" said Tyrese.
"Ladybugs eat leaves" was Kael's answer.
"Bees live in a beehive in trees." (Maaka)
"Spiders live on a web." (Petrus)
"Butterflies can fly." (Amelia)
"Caterpillars eat leaves." (Sophie)
"Spiders catch all kinds of insects." (Lilee)
"Bumblebees make honey." (Kyneasha)
"Centipedes have 100 legs." (Petrus)
"Snakes can bite." (Elisha)
"Grasshoppers can hop very far." (Amelia)
"Cockroaches climb into houses." (Sophie)
"Spiders have eight legs." (Maaka)
"Mosquitos can suck peoples' blood." (Kael)
Wow! Room 2 already know so much interesting stuff. Tomorrow we'll find out what everyone wants to learn about mini beasts, like: "I wonder why ladybirds have spots?" or "What's the most dangerous mini beast....?"

Welcome to Room 2's blog! We are a class of 17 Year 2 students. We love sharing work that we have created with each other. Here are Maaka and Troy with their magnetic letter words today! Well done boys!
School lunches can be ordered from the school office. Please ensure that orders are placed before 8.55am.

There is usually a class fundraiser on Thursdays such as a sausage sizzle, but please check weekly.
Subway $5 for a 6" sub, a cookie and a drink (or two cookies and no drink)
